Stick Control
was formed in Spring 2005. There are around 15 members who
are all GCSE music students.
Performances include school concerts and the High Peak Fair,
Buxton.
In the near future they are starting a
project with the Northern Chamber Orchestra (NCO) which
has the aim of fusing together orchestral and samba music.
It will be a 5 week project
sponsored by www.amplifier.org.uk. The facilitator
will write the beginning and the end of the piece of music
and the students will be writing all the remaining parts
of the piece in order to develop their compositional skills
as well as their musical skills.
The band meet regularly to develop their musical and performance
skills. Band members are also encouraged to lead the band.
